1 · What you are looking at

The indicator finds swing pivots (5 bars left / 3 bars right by default), then clusters nearby swings into zones using 0.5 × ATR as the merge distance — so three highs within one ATR of each other become ONE zone at their weighted-average price, not three lines. Each zone then lives a lifecycle: it gains touches, loses points to breaks and age, and either survives or gets cleaned up (max 30 zones, 200 bars untouched, or breaks > touches with 3+ breaks).
  • Red = resistance (selling interest), green = support (buying interest). Brighter + thicker = stronger.
  • The box around each line is the cluster band — price anywhere inside it counts as "at the zone".
  • 2 · Reading a label chip

  • 23158.50 | 6x — zone price and total contacts (pivot + merges + touches).
  • ·4S — 4 of those contacts were strong rejections: the wick tagged the band but the candle body closed outside it. Strong touches weigh 15 pts each in the strength score; soft touches (close inside the band) only 7.
  • ★ — MTF confluence: the same level formed on both the chart timeframe and the higher timeframe (enable "MTF 15m" above and watch stars appear). +15 strength and a thicker line.
  • ⇄ — this zone has flipped roles at least once (broken resistance became support, or vice versa).
  • 3 · Touch → break → flip

  • A touch = price enters the band and closes back on its own side (rejection). It refreshes the zone's age and adds its volume to the zone's volume profile.
  • A break = close beyond the band by 1.5 × cluster distance. With Role Flip ON the zone converts instead of dying: type flips, counters reset (Touches = 1, Breaks = 0), and a FLIP chip marks the conversion bar. A 5-bar cooldown stops whipsaw double-flips. Try the "Breakout" tab — the broken range-top flips green and catches the first pullback.
  • Post-flip retests count as normal touches automatically — the touch logic keys off the zone's new role.
  • 4 · Strength (the score behind opacity and width)

    min(50, strong×15 + soft×7) + min(20, volume×10) + 15 if confluent − breaks×10 − age decay
  • Volume bonus: contacts on above-average volume (rolling EMA baseline) push strength up — institutional levels light up.
  • Age decay: untouched zones fade slowly; HTF-origin zones age 4× slower and survive without meeting the 2-touch label minimum.
  • 5 · The info panel

Shows the 2 nearest zones above and below the live price with distance in ATR, touch detail, badges and a strength bar. This is your trade-planning surface: entries near a high-strength zone 1–2 ATR away, caution when price is wedged between two strong zones.

    6 · Settings guide (NT8 property grid)

  • Detection — Pivot Left/Right (bigger = fewer, more significant swings), ATR Period, Cluster Distance × ATR (raise it on noisy charts to merge more, lower it to separate close levels).
  • Zone Management — Max Active Zones, Max Zone Age Bars, Hide Zones Beyond × ATR (declutter far levels).
  • Role Flip — Enable Role Flip + Show Flip Markers.
  • MTF Confluence — Higher Timeframe (5m…1W or Off). Adds a second series; Off = no extra data loaded.
  • Appearance — labels, boxes, info panel position (4 corners), colors, font size, base line width.
  • 7 · Suggested workflow

  • 1. Glance at the panel: where are the 2 nearest zones above/below, and how strong?
  • 2. Wait for price to reach one. A strong-touch rejection (wick in, body out) at a ★ or high-volume zone is the highest-quality signal.
  • 3. Respect flips — a fresh FLIP level is a classic retest entry (the "polarity" level).
  • 4. Zones that keep soft-touching and bleeding strength are candidates for a break, not a bounce.
